Our Programs

Primary Program

Our Primary Program encompasses a vibrant learning environment where children explore practical life skills, sensorial activities, language development, mathematics, and cultural studies using Montessori materials. With a focus on independence, creativity, and individualized learning, we nurture a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

From Play to Progress

Evergreen Cradles to Crayons primary program is carefully structured in a three-year cycle.

Each year your child will learn at their own pace and follow their own interest while functioning collaboratively in a class which includes children between the ages 2.5 – 6 years.

The learning is structured and progressive. Your child’s independence is fostered, compassion is promoted and confidence is built in the Montessori Primary community because of collective and collaborative work between children of different ages.

We provide quality and nurturing Montessori curriculum to foster the development of the individual child through the activities that encourage practical living skills, good work habits, academic explorations using concrete materials, and opportunities for positive socialization.

We focus on total child development that promotes social, physical and academic growth. Programs that are self-paced and individualized based on your child’s ability. Curriculum that is well-balanced in language (including reading and writing), math, science, social studies and art.

Primary Curriculum

Practical Life

Practical Life is a term used in  Montessori to describe our regular day to day activities. It encompasses skills practical to everyday life, such as cleaning, cooking, and caring for the environment. Practical life activities can be completed at all ages and should be scaled down to meet the child’s ability level. The Montessori methodology focuses on four aspects of practical life: care of the self, care of the environment, grace and courtesy, and control of movement. Practical life activities develop motor control and coordination, independence, concentration, and a sense of responsibility.

Sensorial

Sensorial is used in a Montessori classroom to develop the five senses:  visual , tactile, auditory, gustatory, olfactory. Our activities help children to think cognitively, helping them in their future learning and also their personal and interpersonal development.

Children learn through experiences, and by engaging in  Sensorial activities,  children lay the groundwork for further exploration and learning in all areas of their development.

Mathematic

Developing mathematical skills and spatial awareness is one of the most important things we can help children with. Children learn to recognize shapes, angles, size, position, and the spaces they live in. Montessori Math has a wonderful process of working with materials, from concrete forms to the more abstract. Math materials in our classroom are all ordered from the simpler to more complex. By working with authentic Montessori Math materials, children are encouraged to develop and bring to life their understanding of mathematical concepts.

Our Maths approach will allow children to move onto using a pen and paper with a broader understanding of what a number represents in the physical world. A bridge has been created in the mind of a child between the physical and the abstract

Language

We embrace the Montessori approach to language development, a method designed to foster a love for reading and writing from an early age. Through a carefully crafted environment rich in materials and experiences, our Montessori language program encourages children to explore language naturally and intuitively. Hands-on activities, such as sandpaper letters and movable alphabets, help children develop fine motor skills and phonetic awareness, while story-telling and conversation nurture their vocabulary and comprehension.

By allowing each child to progress at their own pace and follow their unique interests, our Montessori approach supports a lifelong passion for learning and communication, laying a strong foundation for academic success and personal growth.

Culture

At our school, the Montessori approach to cultural education is integral to our curriculum, celebrating diversity and fostering global awareness from an early age. Our Montessori culture program immerses children in a rich tapestry of global traditions, geography, and history, encouraging them to explore and appreciate different cultures. Through hands-on activities, such as exploring maps, and learning about world festivals, children develop a deep respect for diversity and an understanding of their place in the world. This approach not only broadens their perspectives but also nurtures empathy and a sense of interconnectedness, equipping them with the cultural competence needed to thrive in a diverse and dynamic world.
